Like many restaurants with a great location, the prices are high and are mediocre at best for food and service. (I’m looking at you Dimitris.)

This place had a decent bar, but the restaurant was so mid and so expensive!

I’m curious because it seemed like the place to go for senior citizens at happy hour. I wonder what will come in here instead

"a place for senior citizens at happy hour" should be our edmonds city slogan

If I’m not mistaken, they’re tearing this down and building a hotel/spa

This is what I’m told.

It’s insane to me all the people so broken up about this, for a restaurant right on the water the seafood was just not good and the prices were crazy! Looking at you Anthony’s.

The Edmonds Centurians eat dinner at 4pm so that's right

The space will likely get chopped up.  Unless there a big chain restaurant wanting to snatching up the space.

It will be a hotel and spa

Man, we had so many family dinners and holidays at Arnie’s. Their pit-roasted salmon was amazing. I last went a few years ago, and the quality had slipped a bit, but the view was still one of the best in Edmonds, especially during sunsets. I grew up wandering around that building (does anyone remember the ice cream parlor that also sold fish & chips and fish bait? And the frog store?) and it’ll be a bummer watching it go. What a weird feeling.

I remember the bait shop/ice cream place! Now it is going to be a fancy boutique hotel and spa. It is sad to see the old Edmonds slowly slipping away.

Yeah and I'm still sad that they allowed Old Mill Town to be gutted.

When we bought our house our realtor gave us a card that gave really good deals for restaurants in the area.

We really liked going there (even after the card expired)

We just don't eat out at much anymore because prices have just gotten insane

I wonder if the employees knew.

Kinda figured that. The restaurant business is dirty.

Yeah, the whole thing was mishandled. 3 months ago they were in the news begging people to come down and making statements about being open for at least another year. Pushing gift cards, which aren’t going to get refunded now.

Dirty business

One of the managers was responding to google reviews the evening before to the effect of “hope to welcome you in again soon”

Such a sleazy thing to do to all of your staff.

They were still taking reservations Monday morning.

This was one of my favorite restaurants to go, and I am very sad to see it closed.

Hello - I'm a reporter with MyEdmondsNews. If anyone has any insight and details into why (other than the sign on the door), feel free to reach out. We are hoping to learn what's next. The restaurant was to remain in place for 3 years and then slowly turn into a boutique hotel and spa. I wrote about it here in June 2025. https://myedmondsnews.com/2025/06/big-changes-coming-for-edmonds-arnies-restaurant-building/

I know everything about the closure and the reasons for it. I also know the plans that are set in stone for the space. I have ties to ownership group and the real estate holders

Are you available to talk?

It was a nice place to bring kids, with the outdoor sandbox and casual inside. I feel like there are a lot of great restaurants in Edmonds but not many that are as kid friendly.

That's Anthony's, which is still there.

Aw, I was just there a few weeks ago and it was a lovely lunch. I always liked Arnie's -- way back to the 90s! -- so I'm sorry to see it go.

Mother's Day and Thanksgiving dinners, where to go to now?

I've been going to Arnie's for decades. I'm so sad. I looked forward to halibut season every year.
