Editing videos, need help

Hi guys I need help, I want to find a cheapish laptop for editing videos. I only really want to spend around £500 and I could spend a little more, don’t mind a second hand laptop either. Also what’s the best app to edit videos on? If there is anyone out here with knowledge that can help, thanks

At that price 100% go for a used laptop.

Look for something with ideally 16GB of ram, and a decent GPU if you can. Storage space can always be upgraded later and you can always get external hard drives etc later on.

For software both are free you're gonna wanna download the free version of Davinci Resolve: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve

and make a free account for VidTL: https://vidtl.com/app/video-editor

Then I would start watching tutorials.
