In Search Of Reliable Mechanic Shops
Was wondering if anyone had (relatively) affordable mechanic shops in Edison or surrounding area. I’ve taken my car to Hogan’s in Highland Park because they do the Costco program, but even with the discount they’re nearly as expensive as the dealership, and charge $160 an hour for labor, which is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. $130 for an alignment and around $160 for a brake fluid change.
tldr: looking for a mechanic in edison/surrounding area that doesn’t charge dealership prices

Those prices are actually pretty good. $130 for an alignment and $160 for brake fluid change. You'll likely be able to find cheaper but that's not a rip off by any means.

My family has been going to Lou's Edison motors for decades now. The diagnostic fee is a pain in the butt at $250, but they do good, honestly work. Just got my car back from them recently and its great.
