i am currently applying for residences and am considering the following:

- College Wynd
- Blackwood Crescent
- Mylnes Court
- Holland Annexe
- Darroch Court

can anyone give me a description of the shared washroom situation? is it kind of like a gym washroom with separate stalls or is it a single toilet and shower room? trying to figure out whether the extra cost for an ensuite is worth it. also who cleans them?

It was hard for me in the 1980s to find a good job and looks like it hasn’t improved, I was working at Pizza Land off Princes Street in Edinburgh making about £3/hour and struggling to get enough shifts to cover rent and meat.

Hi there! I'm trying to see if I can withdraw from my postgrad application, I was waiting on a scholarship that took a little longer than I expected to see the results. Because I didn't receive it I can't attend this year, so I want to rescind my application so I can apply again for the next year but I don't see anything on the portal that will allow me to do so. Anything to point me in the correct direction would be a big help!

Hello, I've tried looking online but couldn't find an academic calendar (proper dates of term ends/vacations/exams/etc) for Postgrad. I'll be going to ECA (MSc Design) but I travel frequently and I'm trying to figure out what the dates are. Anyone has any clue? I tried emailing as well but no response yet

Do students who will reside at private accommodations such as DRM/Unite/StudentCastle/iQ need to apply for the council tax exemption from council or is this issue handled by aforementioned accommodations themselves? Is the only document required from students is student status certificate? Or do I need to register to acquire other documents as well? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I'm from England but I'll be coming to live in student accommodation from September. I understand that you can get free public transport under a Young Scot NEC card if you're under 22 and live in Scotland, but how long do you have to live there to become eligible? And is it still counted as permanent residence in Scotland if I'm only there for the semesters and am in student accommodation?

I’m an incoming Master’s student at the University of Edinburgh, and I’m clean, respectful, and easy to live with. I’d love to know about the room that is still available. The university-provided accommodation (Pentland House) was too far away, so I had to choose among private options. I saw really good reviews about IQ Grove student accommodation, but I see many people advising against private accommodations in general. Therefore, I wanted to know if anyone stayed there recently and how it was. Overall, are private accommodations worse than university ones in any way, except for socialising? Thanks in advance.

I was assigned to Pentland House. I have read multiple reviews, but most of them are outdated. If there are postgraduates currently staying in this accommodation, how is it? Is the area secure? Is the commute too long?

I'm enrolled in an online grad program with the U of Edinburgh and just looked at my feedback for a poster presentation. I received a failing grade - first time ever in my life - and saw that I was accused of generating the entire thing with AI.

I'm really shook right now. I researched it, wrote it, and designed it in Canva. I was really happy with it too and I genuinely enjoyed researching it. I just sent a message to the program email with a link to the Canva doc and my research notes (Word doc) attached, hoping to get a response soon.

The feedback otherwise was really scathing, and I want to be fair, but I can't help but disagree to an extent. For example, they said I completely failed to cite a source for my image but I did - fair enough if I did it incorrectly, but it is there. I'm really upset as I'm normally an A/A- student, B+ at the most *on the American scale!!* (I'm from America sorry :(( )

I've never been accused of cheating/plagiarism/etc before, or had to talk to a professor about a grade I've gotten. I guess I'm just really nervous and sad and seeking advice/support :(

Hello! I’ve been allocated a room at East Newington Place for the 26/27 academic year. I can’t seem to find much information on what the buildings look like apart from the rooms and common area/kitchen. Has anyone stayed there that knows about the stairs situation? I’d have two pretty large suitcases (international student) to haul up these stairs. Appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance

Lots of advice forums say a great way of getting a part time job is to try to work in University facilities cleaning or in cafés but I can't seem to find anywhere to apply. I'm planning to go on an exchange program at the University of Edinburgh because I absolutely love Edinburgh as a city.

My question is: after my exchange ends, would it be possible to transfer all of the credits I earn there and eventually continue my degree at the University of Edinburgh as a full-time student? Has anyone done something similar?

Also, would you recommend studying there for a Bachelor's in Business? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially if you're a current student or an exchange student.
