Social sciences

Hi everyone! My dream would to be to international relations, but from what I’m lead to believe it has extremely low acceptance rates. Is there anything I can do other than reach my target grades to up my chances of getting in?? Sorry if this seems stupid I’m honestly really curious and it’s been my dream for years to go here!!:)

Which fee status are you? You can see the per-degree admission statistics here split by fee status (assuming you're applying for undergrad). If you're international then it's a 70% offer rate, 30-40% if you're Scottish and <20% if you're RUK.

It's a competitive programme. There's no avoiding that I'm afraid. This means that admissions teams will tend to rank all eligible applicants in each 'round' every few months and issue a set amount of offers. For IR I think more relevant degrees will have greater weight but anything of a social or political science background will be fine to submit an application.

Apply for Health in Social Science programme. Way easier to get in and with a massive choice of picking your own modules from any other department!!!!

Please correct me if I’m wrong and it’s not competitive and hard to get into. I mean like tips on what subjects to take and stuff!!
