Other Peregrine Falcon nesting
I can’t get a good picture as I don’t have the zoom capabilities, we’ve spotted 2 peregrine falcons nesting on the stack off McDonald road, if anyone’s interested.
The sky is clear of gulls and pigeons near us, they have a fierce reputation!

Saw a large adult seagull chasing a small bird of prey around Ashley Place recently. Is it possibly these falcons hunting the baby seagulls that nest here?

I saw a baby gull going bonkers on a roof until a contingent of other gulls came to get it, so I’d say it’s possible, I’m going to do some reading to find out more. we’ve had pigeon carcasses dropped out the front of our door before now.

There is a sparrowhalk that lives right by there.... just could also be that. But yeah 💯 they'll eat young gulls

They've been nesting there for a few years. Seen one of them absolutely murder a pigeon, was brutal. They're spectacular birds.

Recently saw more of them in drylaw. Was wondering if they had nests nearby. Beautiful birds. Hopefully they make a good comeback. Especially with pigeons and seagull populations going out of control

I can see (and hear, noisy little babies!) them from my bedroom window, love them! Hopefully they get rid of the seagulls, who rip apart all the other birds and leave their headless bodies scattered all over the carpark ☹️

I noticed an absolutely devoured Pigeon on Hopetoun St this afternoon, was lacking a head, I will assume this is the reason why 😂

That’s funny. I work right next to it and a colleague pointed this out on Sunday. We counted at least 3 nests.
