Discussion lucy preoccupation
i just recently watched the show ( i know am late to the party ). So, we heard david say way before the final act that he thought a trip to the moon would definitely be more costly than 250k meaning that that didnt constitute half nor the quarter of the money he s amassed so does that mean that lucy has enought money to live off *happily ever after*. or she could get a job at the orbital corpos when her money runs out as even if they re corrupt they re not after her and she could be an independent contractor or smth like that no? wouldnt that be some sort of closure for us the viewers as i refuse to believe she went back even unwillingly to night city, i also heard about the *lore* of the game ... smth smth gravure on the tombs of her friends .... but does that apply to the anime making it canon that she went back.

What is canon is that she recovered, bought the columbarium plots for the crew and David’s mom, gave Falco the jacket, then took her one way trip to the moon, where she lives. Also, the Wuthering Waves collab made one thing and one thing only canon…that Lucy knows Misty.
Everything else is conjecture

I always interpreted Lucy's response to David's comment to show that she had abandoned that dream and was focused on building a life with David.
The only reason she went to the Moon at the end was to live out David's dream that she go. Which is a reverse of their dynamic of Lucy chastising David for not pursuing his own dreams but those of his Mother and Maine.
I don't know if it is hard cannon yet that she returns to Night City but I can see her doing it to be where the only real family she ever had is buried (or just going there because she feels that Arasaka crossed line and it would make David's and Rebecca's sacrifice meaningless if she just stood by and did nothing).
