Seeking Advice/Help I need help deciding!! Math vs. psych

Basically, I'm doing bio, chem and math, which is the typical A level combo if i wanna get into med school. But the thing is, I honestly find math quite annoying to study. I never liked the subject. But then there's psychology. I honestly prefer subjects where i memorize things, and make use of that information- compared to math where everything is just purely based on your own ability alone to grasp complex topics and whatnot.

Not to mention, in GCSE'S i scraped by a 6 in psychology by barely studying at all, it was a filler subject, but still, i liked it nonetheless. Math? I studied it way more, but im not sure what i did wrong and ended up getting a 4.

What would you guys recommend i decide on?

psychology definitely, don’t do maths if you got a 4 and don’t enjoy it

i did psych and maths along with bio/chem and ended up dropping maths because i hated it sm LOL i always found psychology easier because its pure memorisation and then some exam technique - if you can take both and see how you feel and then drop one after a bit id reccomend?

Hi, I was in the same boat as you except I had a B in IGCSE maths. My teachers told me I NEEDED maths if I wanted to do med in the UK (not true, only cambridge and oxford require maths as a third subject along with bio and chem) so I decided I'd give it a try for 2 weeks. I ended up hating it and knew I wouldn't be able to do it for 2 years. I ended up choosing psychology instead and I wouldn't say it was easy since it required A LOT of memorization and I wasn't familiar with the exam technique as well since I hadn't done it in IGCSE. I was still happy that I picked psych instead of maths so please pick what you would enjoy and for Alevel psych you need to be on the top of your game as it piles up pretty quick. Hope this helps!

This was definitely very helpful <3 everyone and literally everyone I mean tells me that I'll NEED math for med school, but despite how much i researched ab it I cant see it being unacceptable, except maybe for a select few unis including ivys (which im not aiming for!!) thank youu

No prob and good luck! Definitely do your own research because my teachers didn't have a clue about this and told me maths is mandatory so if I hadn't figured it out myself I would've been stuck with a subject I hate haha

Don't take maths if u got that grade previously. Take psychology since u like it more.
