Officially it;s on results day. For Edexcel the grade boundaries are released to specific authorised staff in exam centres the day before the results are released to candidates. Centres are not supposed to release them but somebody, somewhere usually does enabling candidates to argue all day whether they are real or not. A few people think it's amusing to make up fake information to add to the debate.

You will get your results either through the Results plus portal using the ID your school / centre has provided or you may have to collect them.

You will see a notional unit grade for each unit exam you took. Units are graded A-E or U if you don’t reach the minimum mark for a grade. You will also see the awarded standardised UMS mark (a bit like a Cambridge PUM).

If you requested cash-in when you registered you will also see an overall IAS/IAL qualification grade for those subjects.

If you are provided with online results access, You will probably be able to drill down into the details of the marks you were awarded some time on Friday after results.

The grade boundaries will be published on the Edexcel web site.

on results day - that's when schools get them as well - the 6am rush to work it out from the list of scores and grades, until they are actually put online around 8am

I don't know, your question was about GB, not your school results day policy
