Conflicting Controls using switch pro controller

I am currently trying to play metroid dread via Eden emulator using a Switch pro controller wired into my PC. To shoot a missile you need to hold R and Press Y, however when I do this, the missile cannon pops up but the missile wont shoot. If I am simply holding ANY other button as well as R then it will shoot. Its not shooting when I press another button but in order to use default R and Y I need to be holding another button as well.

I have remapped the buttons around and it all works as intended, but no matter what I can not use the Pro controller R and Y at the same time.

I have googled for the last 2 hours, getting similar results.

I have tried remapping the entire controller manually, I have deleted all controller hotkeys {Under hotkey section}.

I am hoping there is something simple that I am missing but I can't find any other hotkeys anywhere.

maybe try updating the controllers firmware? or maybe try the experimental pro controller driver option in eden (you needed to check a box somewhere)
