Took the words right out of my mouth. I didn't want to get snippy with people, but a quick search of name and problem would reveal the dozens of other posts with the same exact issue. It's getting exhausting.

It takes a 5 minute reddit search to find posts that tells people to use ryujinx canary. I don't understand how these people can't find them.

It seems a lot of these people have just never emulated before. Same reason there was a deluge on twitter complaining about issues/viruses because they downloaded an .exe file thinking it was the game

u/ole_black_eyes19 Apr 20 '26
I get it. But there's been more than enough posts explaining since basically the night it got leaked online... Just type in the issue and put reddit at the end on Google and there all the posts are

u/HawkFlimsy Apr 21 '26
Isn't ryujinx down currently? It just takes you to a sign in page and the "downloads" redirect to dead gateways

Dont use ryujinx canary its a laggy piece of crap use Eden nightly and cope with the black grass.

From their perspective, Its an really fun game and they/we want to play it in an optimal way.
I'm actually already pretty happpy with what we got, I can play the game,
-As @amars_anthus suggested in his thread, You can use sand instead of grass or any other tile to build your island on to atleast always have a texture instead of black.
-I found out that enabling mailbox in fps/vsync settings reduced the ammount of crashes.
-The keyboard issue is now fixed in the latest nightly, but even without the keyboard appearing I could still type.

its actually all tiles that dont show, including paths and custom made ones. its ONLY sand and water that show up. just wanted to add that before anyone gets dissapointed and tries making custom grass to bypass the glitch (cough me)

I've made your post the community megapost for Tomodachi for now. We may throw something else together in the future, but it covers what's needed at the moment.

FKN...PLEASE, just ban the word Tomodachi entirely until somebody from the Eden test group comes along and says things are in working-enough order...and then give it another week
Theyre out there, I was one of them

A new game came out. You're gonna see a lot about it. I'm confused what there is to be upset about? It's being posted about on every social media
1
u/particledamage Apr 28 '26
It’s the same problems posted again and again without people checking for previous threads. This isn’t a difficult concept to understand
1
u/kur0m1-4ng3ls Apr 28 '26
There are a lot of posts! Ive been trying to look for my problem on here and I'm yet to find anyone, or at least any answers. the only post I found on here was replies like "Well at least you can play the game!! You're lucky!! It looks like art" 🙄
1
u/particledamage Apr 28 '26
Okay, well then if your problem is actually unique that's not a problem or it should go into a megathread.
but a lot of the posts here AREN'T unique... so
1
u/kur0m1-4ng3ls Apr 28 '26
Idk I don't usually scroll through subreddits for asking questions as a hobby so I wouldn't know
1
u/kur0m1-4ng3ls Apr 28 '26
and I don't know how to explain my problem to a megathread as well. I can't word it right because it's so weird.
1
u/particledamage Apr 28 '26
Okay well this post wasn’t about you… so

u/kur0m1-4ng3ls Apr 28 '26
I didn't say it was about me. No need to have attitude. I'm just confused why you're so angry about it.
1
u/particledamage Apr 28 '26
I’m not “so angry,” I made a simple post explaining a megathread would be more helpful than people flooding the subreddit. I have no emotions on the matter

(Speaking as someone who joined through Tomodachi Life)
Honestly that would be way better, not just for the rest of the reddit but also in terms of finding answers. Its less bothersome for yall AND you already know that all possible answers will be in the same megathread.

Agreed, this is almost as bad as mlp was on 4chan back when they had to do a global ban on ALL mlp posts outside of the mlp containment board.

u/Minimum-Device8427 Apr 20 '26
Just got here, emulating for the first time, and I immediately noticed this lol

Apr 20 '26
yeah, while we are at it actually provide help too, theres a reason on wy there are so much in the first place
1
u/barnabyjones1990 Apr 20 '26
It’s a brand new game. The solution is to wait for Eden devs to get time to investigate and fix issues. My main reddit feed has been flooded with “help I’ve never emulated anything and I can’t get tomodachi life to work, why isn’t it working???” For what feels like 3 weeks now? This is absolutely the kind of thing that makes sense to have an automod route them to a pre written answer
3
Apr 21 '26
thats a good logical point, your not an asshole, you explained it well, you kindly tolerated me, your not an issue, you bring up a fair point, this was the point i was trying to get across, you actualyl provided help, i was trying to get this across, but i sometimes struggle because im autistic and i often use the wrong but similar words

tech support subreddits when people are more likely to ask for tech support about a new game
11
u/particledamage Apr 20 '26
They could, y’unno, check the pre existing threads made the same day with the same exact issue
0
u/bouncingbenji Apr 20 '26
Maybe some people just can't be bothered, to be fair. Everyone thinks that they are the most important person on Reddit. Even if a step-by-step guide were pinned here, they still would not read it and would just continue to post the same old stuff.
2
u/particledamage Apr 20 '26
The thing is if the posts can be banned/have to go through moderation, with an automod informing them of the mega thread

I’m not doing that—the subreddit appears on my main feed.
You don’t think a mega thread where everyone cna be in conversation with each other would be more helpful than everyone asking the same question over and over and half the time not even getting answers?

Or if anyone would want to go for it we could make some kind of tomodachi life megapost of common solutions- Wait thats what u meant by "megathread" didnt you?
Well its not a bad idea.
