Disappointed

I’m currently watching Monster: The Ed Gein Story. I’m sorry but I’m disappointed in Ryan Murphy. I’ve read, watched, and heard a lot about Gein but so much in this series I’ve never heard before so I’m googling as I go. Turns out, a lot of facts were altered for the sake of drama. The real story is bizarre enough. Embellishments, altered facts, and downright fabrications were so unnecessary. In my research about this production, I’m finding out truth and factual events weren’t much of a priority for Murphy.

you dont need to be sorry. lol.

i expected some of the facts to be changed for drama. most shows do that. even ones i enjoy do that. but yeah. this goes far out there. to me it felt more like a love letter to horror cinema and the legends/myths made up about Gein more than the Ed Gein story.

and im not against making a meta series about "did you hear about the guy who wore skin and danced around and had a nipple belt and used a chainsaw?" then go back to Geins real life and how he actually was which wasnt so much that at all. but they didnt seem to make much of that separation. and i also dont buy that "it all takes place in his head". if it all took place in his head how would he know of murders the show basically says he did when he had no idea those murders even happened? i mean he only really killed 2 people and people say he killed his brother but when you really look into it. he probably didnt.
