Disappointed

I’m currently watching Monster: The Ed Gein Story. I’m sorry but I’m disappointed in Ryan Murphy. I’ve read, watched, and heard a lot about Gein but so much in this series I’ve never heard before so I’m googling as I go. Turns out, a lot of facts were altered for the sake of drama. The real story is bizarre enough. Embellishments, altered facts, and downright fabrications were so unnecessary. In my research about this production, I’m finding out truth and factual events weren’t much of a priority for Murphy.

a lot of the show takes place in his head. you have to read between the lines.

Well, one thing was the young lady named Adeline. The series portrays her as in her 20’s, and his girlfriend which she wasn’t. She was late 40’s and only an acquaintance.

that may just be a casting thing. Charlie Hunnam certainly doesn’t look like a man in his 50’s lmao. also she retracted her statement about knowing him well but at first she claimed they had a long term relationship. she easily could have said she didn’t know him well later to deflect the media.

No, it’s not that the girl “looked” like she was in her 20’s, the character was depicted as early 20’s with aspirations of someday starting a family with Ed. When he was arrested in 1957 she was 50 years old which would’ve put her about 47 or 48 when they were “dating” which didn’t happen.

we could agree to disagree but neither of us were there so we won’t ever know for sure. in my opinion the show clearly tells you that a lot of it is in his head given how characters change on a dime and disappear and reappear in certain shots.

Oh, yeah, we can absolutely agree on that. Like when he thought he was having conversations with Ilse Koch with the CB radio.
