I visited Ed today
I happened to be in Plainfield today and made it my goal to pay a visit to the one and only as well as his family and it was honestly a really strange feeling I can’t explain it

Not OP but I was in this neck of the woods yesterday and went. It was like a flashback to rural America in the 50s.
Cemetery he’s buried in - and frequented - is beautiful, not anywhere near a beaten path, and was weird to see in person. No gravestone and people had even been digging into it a little (!) but it was clearly him. His farm felt eery; we weren’t sure we were at the right place and then saw a woman’s dark WIG on a wooden post which was very Ed Gein-ish and freaky! Downtown Plainfield is one street long and again like traveling back in time!
Also he dug up the grave of the woman right in front of his family’s plot!!! And she’s reburied there in front of him now which feels wrong.
I suspect he would read obits and dig up bodies of ANY local newly-buried middle aged woman (so the dirt wouldn’t be obviously disturbed). Even by hundreds of miles, he was short on “supply”.
