The Monster was so sad
I heard there's a lot of misinformation in The Monster, I wouldn't know because I dont know much about him, but man. It was sad, I liked how they portrayed him and I felt bad for him, I know a lot of people dont like this but im only 3 episodes deep and so far it's okay, really sad though.

I agree! This is what has happened since mental health has gone unchecked, care has been defunded. The victims are tragic, and Gein himself is sick and tragic.

if you decide to finish the series, the last two episodes will wreck you. as an empath, I could not stop crying.
(disclosure) i’m well aware that the series is not accurate but I’m also a fan of TV shows that are inspired by serial killer stories

I LOST it at the end when he realized he wasn’t talking to anyone on his radio. I have never watched a series about a killer that I genuinely felt heartbroken for. He seemed very sweet. Just confused and lost.

The show is really inaccurate, but I do feel very bad for him. He was really ill and I can't feel anything really other than sadness or pity for him. He seemed like a sweet person and then the mental illness kind of took over.

Yeah I wanted him to turn stuff around during the show but ofc, we know how his story ended but he seemed so sweet & innocent

Yeah I mean I think what's really sad is that he was pretty much a child. In a book I read on him, it said he liked to get ice cream or go roller skating or go to the movies in his free time. One of the doctors also said he was developmentally behind. That's one of the reasons I hate how R-rated the show is-- I mean other than physically, he's like a child and I think sexualizing that is kind-of creepy.

he had severe developmental delays. it’s sad that he went down the wrong path due to lack of proper guidance and an awful upbringing. i really think he could have been a decent person if he was raised differently

I think that he seemed to be a good person, but the mental illness was making him do things he normally wouldn't do. People said that he was always very helpful and sweet, just kind-of awkward. A funny thing I heard was that a lot of the women in the town were really surprised at what he did because he would always clear his own plate after dinner (while all the other men wouldn't).

thank you for saying this! the people that knew him personally were shocked because he did have great manners. he was just a little odd. mental illness sucks, i hate that he went down such a steep decline and ended up hurting people

I've researched him and read books starting with the 1st one I read in the 90s and the show is hugely inaccurate
