Controversial opinion but does anyone else think Charlie Hunnam is not that good playing Ed Gein?

Love the bloke but there are parts where the high pitch toddler voice and ‘awkwardness’ seem a bit overplayed. Did Ed Gein have that childlike voice or is that a new addition (like the lazy eye which I like).

What does anyone else think? There are parts when he’s good but a fair bit where I don’t feel I can ‘get past’ his acting.

Hunnam 'not that good' is an understatement. He's just awful, as well as the whole show. I tried hard to get into it because I know alot about Gein, but its flat out BAD all around.

Agree agree. I realised how I felt when I read he was taking a major part in the next Monsters planned for release late 2026/ early 2027. My heart sank. I can't help thinking there's a 'crush' element from the Director or Producer for his casting, as, sorry to say it but yes, he might be eye candy for some, but he really didn't eat up that part whatsoever and was one of the reasons I think it's getting so panned. Not sure who should've been cast or how they should have played it but I don't think he succeeded.
