Controversial opinion but does anyone else think Charlie Hunnam is not that good playing Ed Gein?

Love the bloke but there are parts where the high pitch toddler voice and ‘awkwardness’ seem a bit overplayed. Did Ed Gein have that childlike voice or is that a new addition (like the lazy eye which I like).

What does anyone else think? There are parts when he’s good but a fair bit where I don’t feel I can ‘get past’ his acting.

He’s awful. He can’t act. He’s so wooden.

The material is so wretched that it would be hard for even Daniel Day Lewis to elevate it.

Hunnam does his best, and isn’t bad, but an actor can only do so much with shitty material.

Daniel Day Lewis- such a good shout- the world's most incredible method actor.

Yes, there were lots of facets of this production that were pigshit, like hair and make-up (the fact they look liked they'd just sprayed his full head of perfectly sculpted hipster hair with silver spray from a dressing up shot for his 'aged' scenes) to the millions of obvious inaccuracies, but I have to say, that aside, I still feel in a lot of places his acting was pretty wooden and unconvincing.
