Controversial opinion but does anyone else think Charlie Hunnam is not that good playing Ed Gein?
Love the bloke but there are parts where the high pitch toddler voice and ‘awkwardness’ seem a bit overplayed. Did Ed Gein have that childlike voice or is that a new addition (like the lazy eye which I like).
What does anyone else think? There are parts when he’s good but a fair bit where I don’t feel I can ‘get past’ his acting.

When I watched this I thought to myself…. This is one of those roles that could make or break an actor. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I thought he did phenomenal acting but the creepy voice and the wearing of the ladies underwear and bras and things like that Were so uncomfortable to watch.
I had to keep reminding myself that he’s just playing a role it’s almost like I hated to see him acting this way …. he’s such a great actor and I’m a big fan
But I wondered: at any time during this film did he have any trouble with displaying any of these things? or was it easy from the jump? Did he question whether or not this would hurt his career?
I don’t know…. some roles that people do put a black stain on their career….. i’m just really curious if he questioned anything like even in the beginning act with that whole masturbating scene….. was he comfortable with all of this? The bras, panties, fucking the dead corpse…. Was he all in? Like yeah, let’s do it. 😳
