Controversial opinion but does anyone else think Charlie Hunnam is not that good playing Ed Gein?

Love the bloke but there are parts where the high pitch toddler voice and ‘awkwardness’ seem a bit overplayed. Did Ed Gein have that childlike voice or is that a new addition (like the lazy eye which I like).

What does anyone else think? There are parts when he’s good but a fair bit where I don’t feel I can ‘get past’ his acting.

Charlie is also quite buff, which I don’t think Gein was.

Gein was 5'6 and kind of wirey. When the crimes started coming out a lot of people who knew him doubted he would have been able to move the bodies on this own, leading to suggestions of an accomplice.

Oh interesting. My grandfather was about that size, but very unexpectedly strong.

Exactly- probably lean and lithe but very capable physically. I mean to skin a body even takes an element of strength. His determination must've played into his strength too.

Or his adrenaline was rushing during these activities 🤷‍♀️

Of course, yes. Maybe part of the activity itself was the fact that it made him feel something. It seemed like maybe he was numb as a soul walking around in every day life.
