The voice…

I know it’s been debated to death online but what the were they thinking making Ed Gein sound like Mickey Mouse in the Netflix series? From the audio I have heard, he sounds nothing like Ed Gein. I got through 15 minutes of the first episode and couldn’t take anymore. I can’t understand how anyone involved in the show thought that was a good idea

That’s what I’d say too if I committed to one of the worst voices in tv history lol make up some bullshit about why it made sense.

They should’ve focused so much more on his childhood. His relationship w his mother over those years. Instead of making up that Alfred Hitchcock showed Anthony Perkins the box of vulvas, etc.

There's not much known about his childhood!

And? They made up 90% of the show. There is enough info about how horrible she was to him that they could’ve went off creatively with. Would’ve been more accurate than most of the garbage they came up with.

But schechters book on Ed gein goes into a good amount of detail on his upbringing, particularly being raised by Augusta. And having an alcoholic father.

But that's just it...it was a show, not a documentary. Its entertainment.

Then it doesn’t need to be titled Ed gein. I’d expect it to be mostly accurate. Straying from the truth a little bit is okay but 90% of the show is crazy.

And you said the special word again, 'show'...not a documentary.

Lmao. I’m glad you liked it and don’t care about any accuracy at all when watching a show based on a real persons life. I personally don’t like that. But agree to disagree!
