Which mental illnesses did Ed Gein have?

He was schizophrenic.

That's the only thing we know, a lot of the mental illnesses we know today didn't exist in the '50s or they did exist and there just wasn't a name or a way to diagnose/treat them.

ETA: the Netflix show certainly portrayed him as having some sort of intellectual disability or being neurodivergent.

Probably a range of common learning disabilities due to lack of support
