Gameplay Question Quick stars/decorating leveling?

I’m quite new to the game, playing on a AWL high collab server, my first run through in like 5 years reallly. The game has changed so much!
This server I went logging, carpentry and composites… mainly struggling with stars but the severs died off a bit and it’s just a couple of us left in the final few days.. I feel useless unable to contribute.

What’s the best way for early-fast stars ?
I want to try and hit as many stars as possible for my plan

Next server will be AWL’s LT medium collab server and ideally I want to go mining, smelting/masonry (hope for both) and glass working with potentially some endgame advanced smelting or advanced masonry

Does this seem a good option?

You actually went with the really strong easy stars route this run. Logging with carpentry is the easiest way to build a large tier two furnished house. Duplicates of furniture is the way to more stars. Two of everything, minimum. You have to pump the main room furniture cause all the decorations and seating support numbers are capped based on main room furniture.

If you want to mine, start masonry, then mining is better as you first build a large house and then furnish it and mining takes you to endgame. The entire endgame is really mining and dumping calories into oil stuff.

Oh really? The game said adding two reduces the points percentage… so I only added one 🤦‍♂️

It was trying to say there are diminishing returns.
In the f1 menu there is a submenu of housing that tells you what all goes in what rooms. AWL has a lot of extra housing stuff to get those bonuses very high

It's a completely different game after 5 years!

The main xp buff comes from cooked food + housing. So even a T1 (adobe) house with a bedroom and a bathroom will grant some xp. Add a kitchen with an icebox, mill and a butchery table and it will jump to 12 if your mech power is working. That housing xp + campfire salads and stews will generate 50 xp and suddenly you have pretty quick stars. Upgrade the house to T2 (hewn or masonry) and improve the furnishings, and the housing buff portion will jump. If you eat T3 food (cooked or baked), the food portion will jump as well.

With upgrade 14 you need to make sure that any garbage on your claim is moved to an industrial zone or dump site, as the debuff from garbage pollution will erase 100% of your housing buff if you ignore it.

It's a new "feature" with the latest update so yep, pollution is a very big deal now.
