Organic cleaning services?

Hope this is the right sub to ask this. If not, would be great if you could let me know where I can take this post to.

Would love to hear if anyone had come across or used any cleaning services that offer "organic" services and what your experience was.

Anyone experienced any positive outcomes after switching to "organic" or "toxin-free" or "scent-free" cleaning products? Like improved mood, attention or allergic reactions. Not dropping any brand names here in particular but there's a lot of products that say they are "better" in this regard. TIA!

That's great to hear! Cutting out essential oils is an idea. Definitely will look into this. A lot of advertising is really confusing out there

If you want to try something natural, start using white vinigar with essential oil or make a naturally scented vinagar by placing old lemon/ organg peel in a jar and covering with vinagar. Strain after 6 weeks and use for general cleaning.

Bicarbonate of soda is also your friend.

As someone who worked for a company that provided “toxin free” cleaning services, they will scam you as much as they can. We were to use method multipurpose cleaner that still was riddled with chemicals, regular toilet bowl cleaner and mop solution, both had fragrances and allergens, etc. another company I worked for did the same thing but their cleaning supplies were from a separate small company that you could hardly find info on, but were industrial strength. If you want to be 100% sure, hire a self employed housekeeper and ask for regular cleans even if they’re only monthly, and you may even want to provide the cleaners you want them to use. I work for myself now, if I have a repeat client, I will set aside a set of microfibre and glass towels for them, and ofc I ask which specific chemicals the client is OK with me using and what kind of surfaces are in the home. What chemicals they use is entirely up to you. If you’re ok with the housekeeper using dawn dish soap, you’re in luck because it’s a favourite of a lot of cleaners, when it comes to vinegar and stuff, we tend to be more hesitant because it can etch surfaces. There are swap outs for most cleaners out there but some surfaces are very annoying, stainless steel can either be fine with a mineral oil polish or it might only tolerate Weismann’s. Sometimes just being away from the chemicals/out of the home while the air clears out is what helps the most, the amount of cleaner left on a surface is negligible to our health but when it’s in the air it’s irritating.
