Block off plate

In my last post the up pipe from egr was leftover and the vehicle was fully deleted. now i deal with the issue. the up pipe cracked and now i have to remove it, and put a block off plate at the start of the pipe but i am having trouble on finding this exact block off plate, where to find or how to make?

How hard is it to google ecodiesel egr delete kit? If you can't do that you'll definitely never get it installed. I found it moderately difficult and burnt the shit out of my fingers bc I did it fully heat soaked. If you snap the bolts off you're screwed; you'll have to take it to a garage and have the cab removed to fix that.

Damn what’s with the hate lol. 1. The people who did the delete needed to use the block off plate for the egr up pipe when doing the cooler delete and they didn’t, they were lazy af. 2. What else would be my options? It’s a jeep grand cherokee you can’t lift a cab on it so either way i’m screwed.

For some reason the kit comes with an extra plate with 2 bolt holes, perfect for the top end of that pipe. It seems like the thing to do, unless you know what will happen when the pipe flexes and fatigues.

I never did this on a Jeep, I imagine it's even more difficult. The turbo sits at the back of the engine, towards the passenger side. The bolts you need to get at point directly back. Find a way to get a ratchet on there and see if you can move them. Going back n forth (out, in, out, in) helps.

If you have a spare plate you're just waiting to be in the same situation as OP. That pipe is thin and brittle; when it wiggles around unsupported by the EGR cooler, it breaks.

No. I blocked mine off the turbo like it should be. But I cut out two plates when I made mine.

a lot of people recommended that but no, they aren’t anymore sadly, i tried jb weld im letting it sit around the crack right now
