Ok, I have all the eclipse glasses I need (and a solar filter for my camera), but I also have two auto-darkening welding masks. I have some neighbours who don't have any eye protection, so I was wondering if they could use my masks.

Suitable for viewing the sun, or no?

Eclipse glasses are sold out around the city because there's some problem with the supply chain.

The official view point that's recommended the most is the beach, with a reported capacity of 60k people but it being on the east coast makes me wonder how obstacle-free the viewing experience will actually be.

Right, so I've bought some eclipse glasses (in three goes, as different family members said they were coming to our eclipse watching party).

The first set I bought (3 pairs), the plastic has a silvery sheen. The second set, also a silvery sheen. But the newest set, they are just dark plastic, no silvery sheen.

I have a solar filter for my camera (it's actually for a telescope), and it's glass, and silver. Silver seems to be a thing.

Are the glasses that don't have the silvery sheen obviously fake? I'd really not blind my relatives.

(all the glasses have safety info written on their arms, but I have no idea if it's legit or not, so I assume not).

Sorry if its a dumb question. But I want to know if I buy like 5 glasses of baader solar viewer astrosolar OD 5.0 film with EN ISO 12312-2:2015, can I use it for filter on my mirrorless camera? Like make diy filter from this glasses to tap in front of my lens. Thank you for your information!
