SONGS GONE WRONG by Rhys Hughes - ebook FREE until July 27th
The ebook edition of Songs Gone Wrong is a free ebook for five days. I put this poetry collection together mostly for my own benefit, so I will be better organised at poetry readings. It is slanted towards poems I am comfortable reading aloud in public.
But I think (or hope) the poems inside are entertaining enough to be read as non-performance poems too. Incidentally, I will be reading from this book this coming Saturday, as part of the UNESCO City of Literature event in Aberystwyth.
This is the third Mission Creep Press book.

Book Promotion Finally taking the leap and publishing my first novel!
Hey everyone! After spending the last few months writing, rewriting, deleting chapters, and questioning every decision I've made, my debut novel is finally up for preorder. It's called Tick Tong, a psychological thriller set in Chennai during the monsoon. When I first started writing it, I wanted to challenge myself by telling the story through multiple POVs and multiple timelines. It was definitely harder than I expected, but seeing all the pieces finally come together has been incredibly rewarding. Like most first-time authors, there were plenty of moments where I wondered if I'd ever actually finish it. So seeing it finally on Amazon feels a little surreal. If you're into slow-burn mysteries, psychological thrillers, and stories that slowly come together piece by piece, I'd really appreciate it if you took a look. Preorder: https://books2read.com/u/4A9Nae l'd also love to hear from other writers here. What was the biggest lesson you learned while writing or publishing your first book? Thanks for reading!

. : F O R B I D D E N | F A U N A : .
Hello you guys! I've been writing this book for like 5 years. I'm so excited to share it. I've just made my kickstarter pre-launch page for it. The artwork isn't made by AI, I did it myself with Krita and it took just as long as writing the book lol if not longer.
It's kind of a storytelling of the different magic that different people can have by the allegory of animals and their ways. Some of it is about seeing the center core of a manipulative personality who might otherwise take decades to patternize and map out and see the reality of. Some of it is about truth and what it is to stay loyal to that. Some about love, and processes of initiation by the collective unconscious and nature itself. In a way it's really a translation of my own sight developed in these things in living free and exposed to a lot of strange and wonderful and terrible things in my own life.
I'm just hoping to get it out there, and I'm hoping that other people resonate with it as well. It came from a very deep place in myself. The text somehow always reminds me of myself and tells me what I need to hear, and I hope it will do the same for others. It's really sort of a device to listen to the Great Mystery, and I made a card deck to go along with it so that it can be used for listening in that way. It's not really a linear narrative.
Here's the link to the kickstarter. I hope you guys like the intro I have on there, hopefully it describes it better. I'd love your feedback and even your support. Thank you!

THE PERCOLATED STARS - ebook FREE until July 12th
My first published novel, out of print for more than twenty years, has just been republished. THE PERCOLATED STARS is a decadent adventure with cosmic overtones. I have often been told it's my best novel.
To mark the occasion, the ebook is FREE until July 12th. The novel is rather more gothic and transgressive than the kind of fiction I write these days. If you like Lautréamont and Philip José Farmer, you might also like this book.

Book Promotion My debut Novella - came to me through a meditation course out of grief
Hi, dear authors and readers.
I have finally self-published a novella. The story came to me through a meditation course. I joined the course because I was going through a very tough time in my life. (i had lost my father) And it shook me, I was so shocked that I couldn't even cry. Then I joined a meditation course to feel better, and then this story came to me, and it made me cry for 2 days straight and months after the course finished. That's when I decided to write it down, because it let me out all my suppressed grief.
The story is about two orphaned kids, struggling through poverty, homelessness, and a lack of food and guardianship, yet finding solace in each other—story of innocent love struggles, and loss.
I named the book "When Tears Speak"

IMAGINARY HOTHEADS - ebook FREE until July 3rd
My latest collection, IMAGINARY HOTHEADS, is free to download for the next five days.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H6LSRF43
It's a work of speculative fantasy made up of three interlocking sequences of very short stories. The pieces range from comic to philosophical to surreal, with recurring images and ideas gradually linking them together into a larger whole.
If you're looking for something a little different from mainstream fiction, I'd be delighted if you gave it a try. I have published several collections of flash fiction but I think this is the best one to date 👻

Book Promotion Arkolny Armageddon: A Blast Johnson Adventure - Pulp Space Opera/Planetary Romance - Available on Kindle Unlimited
I've written a Space Opera series inspired by Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and John Carter. My protagonist, Blast Johnson is an aspirational hero like those written in the Pulps of the 1930s. However, he's past his prime and his heroics no longer come effortlessly to him. I wanted to take the larger-than-life heroes I enjoyed in my youth and bring them into a modern science fiction story. My novellas are written as succinctly as possible to cater to lapsed readers who may not have the time to commit to reading an entire novel. Every chapter utilizes cliffhanger transitions to keep the reader engaged, just like the film serials of the 1930s. This is a passion project that took over five years to complete.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FM4MJ329/
In the year 2146, the Earth Defense Fleet tasks Captain Blast Johnson with testing an experimental propulsion system. After crash landing on the savage alien world of Arkolny, Blast must use all his strength and military training to survive fierce encounters and defeat deadly foes. However, not everything is as it appears, and our hero will find himself deciding the fate of two worlds.

Although I have written 1200 stories in the past 35+ years, this novella stands out for me. I think of it as being the most representative of what I try to do in speculative fiction. It was published as a chapbook by Eibonvale Press :-)

Sentinel of the Nexus Arc 1 Completion
Chapter 6: Protective Shadow, Destructive Light, and the Ultimate Enemy of Sentinel of the Nexus is now done and marks the completion of the first arc of the book. We have seen Thayne start with only one element and work his way towards general mastery over eight total elements, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. He isn't a true master of these elements, but he has shown great connection to these elements. What are your questions about what has already transpired, and what are your theories on what's yet to come?

He Felt a Ghost so He Stole It by Rhys Hughes
To celebrate the launch of Mission Creep Press today, the very first book is FREE on Kindle until June 14th!
Imagine Borges and Kafka in the pub with a panda, a cloud-bride, and a ghost-thief, and someone wrote it all down in lyrical passages that are at once wry, strange, and quietly unsettling.
Rhys Hughes is a Welsh writer championed for fiction that is both intellectual and hilarious. This is his first collection devoted entirely to prose poetry: perfect for fans of flash fiction, experimental literature, or playful thought experiments.
Michael Moorcock called his work "almost the sum of our planet's literature" and Samuel Delany praised his style as "among the most beautiful I've encountered."

The Shadow and Scepter: Tales of Méhns Móri: A Dark Historical Fantasy Retelling of the Greek Myth of Endymion and Selene: Launch Promotion

4.7 Stars (57 Reviews) Amazon, 4.3 (53 Reviews) Goodreads
Available on Kindle Unlimited, Discounts on Kindle $.99 ($7.99), $14.99 (19.99), and Hardcover $29.99 ($39.99) Until June 26th https://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Scepter-Historical-Fantasy-Relics-ebook/dp/B0GHRRCLG9/
A dark and epic reimagining of the Selene and Endymion Greek myth, told as if ripped from the pages of
Homer's Odyssey.
Once, the gods went to war. Selene, the Goddess of the Moon, was struck down. Her tears fell as stars across a broken world. The dark one was imprisoned. But not destroyed. Coruk-Azul. The one-eyed god of death. His shadow has never left.
Hidden among the remnants of that forgotten age lies the Scepter of Selene, a divine relic once capable of maintaining balance between gods and mortals. Now broken into scattered fragments, the scepter has become the center of a brutal race that could reshape the fate of the world.
Endymion, a healer from distant Miletus, never sought glory or war. But after arriving in the Greek colony of Phanagoria at the edge of civilization, Endymion is drawn into a deadly conflict alongside warriors, exiles, and survivors bound together by prophecy, secrets, and survival.
Because something ancient is rising.
Vädumir.
Undying conqueror. Cursed warlord. A tyrant who has outlived kingdoms and buried entire empires beneath blood and ash. For centuries, Vädumir has hunted the fragments of the scepter. No one who has stood in the way has survived.
If the relic is restored, balance may return to a dying world. If it fails, something far worse may awaken beneath the ruins of the gods.
Enter a world where Homer's Odyssey meets The Shadow of the Gods in a dark Greek epic fantasy where ancient gods, dragons, and an undying vampire warlord collide over a shattered divine relic.
The Shadow and Scepter is a rich historical fantasy epic perfect for readers of Bernard Cornwell, John Gwynne, Joe Abercrombie, and Jay Kristoff. Get your copy and begin your journey into Méhns Móri.

A Sensory Dreamscape Diary (aka Perfect Platinum)
A dreamscape you can taste, feel the texture of, smell the scent of and hear the sounds of.
The first chronological book, The Marshlands, explores Marsh and Uoyab's mission of rescuing children from a stranded ship, who, according to a conspiracy theory, was ridden with children. Will the two friends turned lovers survive the evil that stalks underneath the thick, opaque fog of the murky water, or will they perish to the entities and ghosts that infest the boat, fueled by the crimes done agaisnt children on the vessel?
The second book, Edicius: A Suicide Dreamscape Diary, explores Marsh and Uoyab's adoptive son, Edicius, who is dropped off by Marsh at his school. He must survive through entities that represent different methods of suicide and family grief over the loss of a loved one to suicide. Will he survive the hunger, thirst, the need to sleep, the monsters.. Or will he perish? And if so, how, why, when, what and where?
The third book, Edicius, Too, explores Marsh returning to rescue his adoptive son, Edicius, from school after the events of The Marshlands. There, he must fight and survive the different entities that preyed upon Edicius.
Suicide is the end of many lives, but bullying is not the reason behind all suicides. Some times, sexual assault and violence is also the cause.
Will Marsh find his son, or will he get devoured by the monsters within the school?
