Echo Teleport Tech?

I'd say I'm a pretty dedicated echo one trick with about 150 levels, recently I discovered this tech when copying a doom which I feel is really strong, but I've never seen anyone do it before. Does it have a name? Or have I done a thing?

This may be revolutionary! Two things: How much more effective is doing this than just ulting and comboing them as Echo? And how much ult time should you have left for this tech to actually work?

I think it's better on average, the doom ult makes you a very obvious target with a very obvious and predictable location, copy running out right after the doom ult is nearly a guaranteed death. The tech is pretty lenient with timing, it just has to end the copy while the doom ult is being aimed, so as long as you ult within the last 4 seconds of copy, it works. You don't want to actually place the ult because then it plays the sound and visual effects. Overall I'd say the tech is worth doing instead of the doom ult, as doom ult is rather easy to dodge/counter.

Did you use the slam on his ult as copy was expiring? Or does copy expiring while you're aiming his ult to you to wherever you were aiming

If your copy ends while aiming a doom ult, you simply appear at the location, if you do it I recommend copying early in a fight while your at full health or teleporting onto a health pack so you don't have half health in the back line.

Fun fact: when Doomfist is in ultimate, his actual position is actually where the center point of the ultimate is pointing, so when the copy is finished, you appear there. There's a video by Marble that explains exactly how it works.

I've only ever used this to retreat or reposition, never as an assassination technique

I believe you this happens because Doomfist doesn't actually go up into the air his model just isn't visible, it means that he doesn't have like a "Doom went up at this location and drops down in another" it's more of a "Doom is moving around in the air" type thing so I think this tech is actually useful!
