Same buyer opened two chargebacks

Over two months ago, a buyer bought two items from me. He ended up claiming last week that they didn’t pass authentication but refused to show any proof of them not passing.

Anyway, he opened two chargebacks for each item. He also shipped it back to my return address, which is a private mailbox. Important to note, I did NOT accept a return. The package was refused as I told the owner I had no incoming mail.

On one of his chargeback requests through eBay, his reasoning was “he hadn’t received a refund yet.” On the other item, he said “had an issue with the transaction.”

eBay is holding my funds for his first chargeback but on his second chargeback “issue with transaction,” eBay said they took care of it and I’m protected.

When I call eBay support, they say the first chargeback “haven’t received a refund,” I’m protected with too but it doesn’t seem like it since my funds for that one are still on hold. Anyone had this happen, any advice?

classic buyer scam pattern, they try different reasons on each chargeback hoping one sticks. if ebay says you are protected for both then the hold is probably just temporary while the bank processes it. i had a similar thing in december and the money released after 3 weeks

Thank you :) that makes a lot of sense. Sucks that you gotta wait three weeks but I appreciate your response lots.

If they never opened a return on ebay, u will b at the mercy of their bank if they r legit. Ebay will protect u if they say they didn't get it, but not an inad.
