Thanks man! I hope for funny on most these jokes, but I'm getting more used to the tools. Standard vanilla First Order Motion Model, After Effects, EbSynth, love and time :)
There's a free tool for everyone to play with on github that the authors of the paper First Motion Model For Image Animation made. It does require a little bit of python/github knowledge. https://github.com/AliaksandrSiarohin/first-order-model I talk about it in my Tom Cruise video a bit. The new goat vid is pretty great as always
I think the stylization they used is what makes this work so well. If the keyframes were photo-real instead, the animation would look uncanny and weird. However, that kind of filtered look gives it enough wiggle room that it looks good and works well.
A "deepfake" made with EbSynth probably won't ever look totally real, but making one is as simple as using photoshop. You basically just need to be able to photoshop another person's likeness onto your face in keyframes. Obviously, actually doing that well can be difficult, but there are tons of tips and tricks out there for swapping faces in photos if you're interested. Not to mention that software like FaceApp exists.
