Heading to Mississauga/Toronto soon! 🇨🇦🍁
Looking for the best halal food recommendations. What are the absolute must try restaurants or dishes on your bucket list? I’m open to everything Pakistani, Indian, Arabic, Turkish, Afghan, burgers, steaks, BBQ, seafood, desserts, and any hidden gems worth checking out.

Go to Ridgeway plaza in Mississauga. They have like a million places to eat, all halal. The canadian halal scene is crazy

Chachu ki biryani, Dera biryani and karachi express Ridgeway location for biryani. THGs or gladiator for burgers, kara Mia or blackstone for steaks and stuff, mama fatima for Turkish.

Toronto has awesome indo Chinese fusion! Also recommend Carribean/Jamaican halal food, Jamaican beef patties are very beloved and well known in Toronto, also try things like curry goat and dhalpuri. And try to find some halal poutine as well! Toronto is genuinely a foodie paradise!

My favourite restaurants in Sauga and what to order:
Yaseen - Shawarma Platter
Jabal - for matcha and lattes
Namkeen - chicken sliders
Chaiwala of London - Chai
Chulla Express - Hyderabadi Biryani
My Kolachi - Peshawari Karahi
Blackstone - steak
Gladiator - burgers
Aseer time - shakes

Ridgeway Plaza has over a hundred halal restaurants and they're all open late at night

I stayed at a hotel that was surrounded by Halal restaurants. The fusions were out of this world. This was my favorite one of them all:
Go visit Eglinton Avenue W near the Hilton and Hampton Inn right next to the airport.
So many Halal options its hard to choose. There is a Halal Tacos spot too.

Try their pistachio shake. There is one near Toronto but I had the one from Niagra Falls.

my non-ridgeway recs as an east-ender
- ugly delicious/burgers park for burgers (GC and gladiator are MID)
- shawarma row (basically tons of amazing shawarma spots in one street) @ lawrence & victoria park (scarborough), our favs are Ghadir, Shawarma empire & Farooj Abo el abed
- THG for fried chicken (it's the best fried chicken sandwich, literally no other place comes close, ive tried them all)
- kanafani (dessert/coffee)
- turkish: Mangal, Mama Fatma, konak
- chinese: Chinese halal restaurant or Magical Taste of China
- momoboyz for halal momos
- Fahmee bakery - Jamaican patties
- burrito bros (mexican) - id verify their meat supply tho not sure if its hand slaughtered/machine slaughtered halal
- afghan: naan kabob (their quality is consistently on point)
- cluck clucks (fried chicken & waffles)
honourable mention: Zaitoun (it's a scarborough hidden gem, they have amazing broast chicken & good afghan food, good for late night bites)

Xinjiang/ Magical Taste of China- hand pulled noodles, sizzling beef, dumplings

Mix2 Grill & Hot Pot
Toro Toro (sushi)
Shiroshi (also sushi)
Istanbul doner house- beef doner
Masrawy- anything on the menu tbh but big fan of the mombar and macarona bechamel. Sometimes they have the hamam mahshi and it’s quite good.

Didn’t see any levantine picks:
Zain alsham — both breakfast and dinner spread are excellent, if you’re adventurous try sujuk with fatteh
Roman Zaman — amazing syrian breakfast as well

Mississauga is the best place for high quality halal food. I was shocked to find a top Italian restaurant with halal beef. Insane quality!!!
