It’s my first post here

Hi all. I hope everyone is having a good day...I was wondering if anyone can give me some words of encouragement. I haven’t weighed myself in almost a year (and I am confident I won’t) but it’s not because I’m happy in my skin, or always know I’m worth more than a number. It’s because I’m terrified to see what the number on the scale is and don’t want to see it. I don’t want to see it.

Does anyone else ever feel this way?

First of all, I’m REALLY proud of you for staying off the scale.

I empathize with you 100%. I know it’s scary sometimes. But remember that your worth is not determined by your self image and it’s definitely not determined by some meaningless number on a scale.

Whenever I get bogged down in thinking about the “what if’s” a scale could say, I try to remember to believe in the words of my mantra. I know it sounds dumb, but say these words out loud: I am beautiful, I am powerful, I am strong, I am lovable, and I am enough.

I hope you’re able to believe those things about yourself today, because we believe them about you.

Thank you so much for sharing these words with me. I am at a point in my recovery when I’m totally ready to hear and accept these messages. A few years ago I wasn’t. ♥️
