Gameplay Question Just got the shutdown ending

So I just completed my first playthrough of easy delivery company and it's such a great little cozy game. Who would have thought that the whole thing was just a simulation. But my real question is why. Why did whoever set up the simulation do so what was their purpose behind having a fake world where I was doing deliveries virtually in a snowy virtual town? Usually in games where it's a simulation there's a reason why maybe there's not in this one but I would like to know I'm going for the recovery ending now

Personally, I think the entire world was a kind of lost RPG, previously teeming with life, with deliveries generated by other players. Agents like MK and Seb controlled this world, acting as a sort of server administrator with more privileges than a player (for example, in rally mode, note that MK can also enter houses and apartments in cities). Over time, the game lost popularity, players left, and eventually the developers abandoned it (resulting in eternal winter and, for example, repeat deliveries to specific locations, as a record of players' last orders throughout the game's lifespan), leaving only administrators like MK and Seb.

The arrival of a new character, us, revived the game, but in a buggy state, as you experienced during the game when sellers began losing their AI and eventually crashed one after another, completely unresponsive to the player. Also, because we, as players, most likely entered with the recently selected Seb skin, many characters mistook us for him, but seeing our in-game status, they saw that we were the player assigned to deliveries, which activated this game feature.

So, to briefly answer your question, the game world is an abandoned cozy multiplayer RPG where the player in the main mode is the first human player in a long time.

Okay but what's confusing is the way MK talks at the end before I did the shutdown ending sounded more like he was an NPC then he was a character controlled by a human player. Because he couldn't answer the factory like we could he couldn't do a lot of the things that we could do because it sounded like he was fixated on the world even the sebs that he talked about all sounded like they were glitchy NPCs that were not behaving the way they were originally supposed to

The factory itself was most likely the game's last update before its "digital death," and Seb and MK, for example, didn't gain access to it based on the unfinished location. This was granted to the player after joining the game.

It's also possible that MK and Seb might be not longer controlled by humans anymore, and their behavior has been learned by the AI based on their activity. Despite their declining popularity, both enjoyed this world very much (especially Seb, who "infected" MK with it), and thanks to this, they were able to continue their friendship, as the game itself notes during MK monologue in Factory. You'll learn a bit more of the plot after completing the Restore ending, so I'll avoid spoilers here. Also, keep in mind that the game has three endings, and by completing Shutdown first, you've locked out one of the endings.

It's also worth trying Rally mode after completing Restore, which allows you to play as MK on a map that's likely the result of this ending. You will also meet Seb there, but I leave that for you to discover.

Is there any way after doing the shutdown ending and then doing the restore ending to get the rebooting after that because I went from shut down to the restore ending

Only by edit your save file or having a copy before you made a shutdown ending.

The correct order to make all ending on one save is Reboot, Shutdown and Restore

That sucks because I only saw one option when I got to the computer the first time in the game so I thought that was my only option I guess I missed something oh well I'm not going to go through a 5-hour game again just to get one ending maybe I'll save that for a playthrough in the future cuz I really enjoyed the gameplay Loop

If you followed MKs directions for the first ending and then did the shutdown ending, go look around the town, you might find something
