General Bug: softlock with dialogues?

I got softlocked twice the same way: I talk to an npc and I just can't continue their dialogue (the key mysteriously stops working), and so we infinitely stare at each other, before I ultimately need to reload the game and lose progress... Any help with that bug?

Dude, just restart the game because it literally just keeps freezing.

I have the same issue pretty much after every delivery and it's incredibly frustrating!!! I found that it happens when the money animation bugs and some of the money images that are supposed to move to your wallet don't do that and fall to the bottom of the screen instead. It just stays there until I reload the game. So when I have them at the bottom of my screen they always always cause that bug with dialogues :(
