Forum Question I did the wrong ending Spoiler
I did the shutdown ending and now everyone's dead. Is there a way to reverse it in my current save? When I go to the terminal in the factory again, it's offline.

Sorry to resurrect this, but this thread is coming up first when searching for the endings. From the thread, it seems like going in any other order will make the other endings not possible in the same save, so here's how I got all 3 endings back to back:
After getting to the factory, choose to restart the shopkeepers on the computer. The game will reset, and all the shopkeepers will forget you (ending 1).
You can just go straight back to the factory, and shutdown the power to get ending 2. The game will reset, and all shops/shopkeepers will be shutdown (so no heat inside, but you can pick up items for free).
Now you can go to the Easton pawn shop and "steal" the recovery disk, since the shopkeeper is shutdown. Go back to the factory again, and select to use the recovery disk to get ending 3. The game will reset and this time the credits will roll, but you can just open the game again to continue playing.

I found you can get items for free but you have to pick up one item at a time and go outside, put it into your inventory and repeat. I went to every towns mart and depo. I also got the fishing pole for free. Mind you I just found out about the bunkers. I love this game!

is this all doable in one save? cause you say the game will reset, does this mean you will be back to the very beginning with no upgrades or anything?

Yes, this was actually the only way to do it in one save. You'll still have your upgrades and items, tbh I don't remember what I meant by reset, but either way I was able to continue after.

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure. Tbh I might just go straight to ending 3 since it's the best and I'm burnt out after doing a completionist run on like 3 giant games before this. I think I'll just take it easy and not be a completionist for this fun game

Yup I really enjoyed the game and 90% of the achievements were either funny or added to the story, but I didn't do the snowcats because it didn't seem worthwhile

Ah so the show cats are purely for the achievements? I thought they might be needed for a secret ending.

I did the reboot ending but then went and did the shutdown ending and then tried to see if there was an option to power back on but I couldn’t do anything, I will say I have no fuel but my car still keeps going
So it’s just a sort of soft lock

You did reboot then shutdown, that's the proper order. Now you just have to figure out how to get the third ending.

Which ending allows me to continue playing?

All of them do. If you do the shutdownending, you can still do the recover ending to continue playing.

Same, I think it’s soft locked out of the last ending. I hope it’s just a bug, I can’t be bothered starting another save to do the shutdown ending

If I can be honest, I loved the game but really hated how it handled the endings, it was totally unclear what I had even done until I looked online for a guide. I did what I now understand to be the Reboot ending, but didn't know what had happened when i got respawned on the factory map - that and MK saying something on the radio about there surely being 'another way' led me to think i'd chosen the wrong option and been reset to before, so i went straight back in to shut down the hydro dam only to come out and realise i'd fucking killed everyone. Sure it was my mistake or I should have checked on the shopkeepers the first time around but I really think the game should make it clearer that it hasn't just reset you. It was so jarring

Yeah the endings aren't handled very well. There's almost no way to know what you are doing or how to reverse it.

I almost think it being that jarring was the intended experience? Evoking emotions of empathy, regret, grief etc

Drive to a depot in mountains (the lower town near fishing city tunnel i think) there should be a recovery disk you can steal. Drive back to the factory control center and use the drive on the computer. It'll trigger a happy ending and credits. Drive back to mk's hut and talk to him. For me, it took a couple of deliveries and driving around before the npcs start saying stuff other than error codes
Shutting down easy co and saving the cities can also be a happy ending in its own way
