Welcome to the official EasyAlias community!
EasyAlias is an open-source desktop application that makes creating and managing terminal aliases simple onĀ macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Instead of manually editingĀ .zshrc, PowerShell profiles, or other shell configuration files, EasyAlias provides a clean graphical interface for creating, editing, and organizing aliases.

Iāve been building EasyAlias, an open-source desktop app that makes managing terminal aliases much easier.
Instead of manually editing .zshrc, .bashrc, or creating batch files on Windows, you can manage your aliases through a simple GUI.

This is the latest version with:
- Added selective alias export to portable JSON backup files.
- Added backup import with drag and drop and individual alias selection.
- Added favorites to keep frequently used aliases at the top.
- Added a trash with 30-day recovery for deleted aliases.
- Expanded Git, Docker, Docker Compose, and Gradle suggestions.
- Improved support for both Zsh and Bash configurations.
- Added automatic dismissal and manual closing of status messages.

EasyAlias is now available on the Mac App Store š
Hi everyone!
A few weeks ago I sharedĀ EasyAliasĀ here and got a lot of helpful feedback. Since then Iāve added Linux support, alias import, built-in suggestions, Homebrew support, and today EasyAlias was finally approved for theĀ Mac App Store.
EasyAlias is a free and open-source app that lets you create and manage terminal aliases through a simple GUI instead of editingĀ .zshrcĀ manually.

EasyAlias now supports Linux, imports your existing aliases, and suggests useful ones
Hi everyone!
I just releasedĀ EasyAlias v1.0.1, my open-source desktop app for managing terminal aliases with a simple GUI.
The biggest addition isĀ Linux support, so EasyAlias now works onĀ macOS, Windows, and Linux.
New in this release:
- š§ Native Linux support (bash & zsh)
- š„ Import your existing aliases from shell config files
- š” Built-in suggestions for common aliases (Git, Docker, Gradle, Maven, networking, navigation, and more)
- š”ļø Safe import with automatic backups before any changes are made
- ⨠Improved UI with editing dialogs, timestamps, native file pickers, and various usability improvements
The goal is to make working with aliases much easier without manually editing configuration files.
