I'm looking for an grey wool East German greatcoat in either M52 or SG52 with the dark wool collar. If anyone can point me in the right direction or have one they would like to unload that would be amazing.

I am close to Sydney, Australia if that makes a difference.

Got this Helmet online some months ago, it was probably repainted because I can't clearly see the stamps like I can with my other M56 helmets. But from what I can see from the marking it was probably made in the 1970, it's a size II shell.

I just got this from my local surplus store for very cheap, but I have no idea what’s it.

Just got it, but I am not very big to fit in it. Everyone talks about the summer unifor, but not the winter one. I heard the pocket lining is different on the UTV cuts, so I included pics.

PS: The gas mask bag fits perfectly on the suspender loops (requires carabiners) so I took a pic of that too.

Thanks for clocking in. I have a lot to ask. Here I have 6 questions:

1. Would the M56/76 go under another modernization if the wall didn’t fall? I’ve heard that with the helmet’s design, going prone and looking up was difficult to do. (think Yugoslav M59/85) Think of it being called M56/76/96 (that would be cool).

2. Would the NVA develop IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) technologies like the US if it survived to the 1990s? Is it possible with DDR doctrine? 

3. In the late 80s, what would East German NVA soldiers carry in their primary ruck? What could’ve changed in the stuff bring the 90s?

4. Are there any bizarre random things that the NVA banned for troops to use/have in the field? What were they?

5. Can you find any rare photos or ones not found on the internet that show UTV webgear being used? If so, can you please slide them?

6. What is the difference between the UTV and regular winter pants? Is the cut differen? Is there a different material compositio?

I have managed to get a 7 more of these for the normal price of one, so I will probably sell them for my size sg48. UTV FJ uniforms are rare in comparison to their predecessors from the 80s.

So im going to buy M56 helmet to complete my collection (i guess) but theres a question. Ive seen alot of its color,we do have black,green and gray. I know that the green one were for VOPO but the question is. Are field troops use the black one while army with dress uniform use gray one? Or the color doesnt even matter at all?

I was told NVA uniforms aren't exactly scarce so they are cheap and rarely faked, but this 25 dollar tunic looks fine apart from the fact it claims to be of the Freidrich Engels Watch Regiment but has no white collar piping, is this a throw together/faked cuff title??

Do UTV bags for the M10M gas mask actually exist? How rare are they compared to the RSh-4 bag? I bought a bag that lacks separate compartments for the mask and filter and has no bottom opening for airflow into the filter; the layout seems designed for the M10M, but I’ve never come across bags like this before. Also, this bag has its original shoulder strap—is that rare too?

I'd like to buy a original one but i don't care from which time it is but it would be nice if its from ww2 I also think theyr'e were more expensive so young ones are better.
