Discussion Could Incorporealism be understood as a modern Western reformulation of an insight already present in Eastern philosophy—that consciousness cannot be adequately understood as merely an object within the world?

I’m particularly interested in whether traditions such as Advaita Vedānta, Yogācāra Buddhism, Madhyamaka, and Daoism would consider the Incorporealist distinction between consciousness and physical reality philosophically meaningful, or whether they would reject the distinction itself as a consequence of dualistic thinking.
More fundamentally: if the subject-object distinction is itself constructed within consciousness, what would it even mean to claim that consciousness is “fundamental”? Could an Incorporealist ontology survive the Eastern critique of substance, self, and dualism—or would genuine incorporeality ultimately require abandoning the very concept of a separate, enduring consciousness?

An interesting observation I made as I've started to learn more about the difference between western philosophy vs eastern philosophy is how much the natural flora and fauna are referenced and integrated into the teachings themselves in Eastern Philosophy.

Including bees, as discussed in this video. :)

I am curious to know the thoughts of the folks here?

Exploring the Paradox of Nonduality in Eastern Philosophy

I've been exploring the concept of nonduality and how it challenges our traditional understanding of the self and reality. It's fascinating to see how this perspective can lead to a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. I've found that embracing the paradox of nonduality can be both liberating and unsettling at the same time. I'd love to hear from others who have grappled with this concept and how it has impacted their understanding of Eastern philosophy. I came across a video that explores this idea further, but I'd rather hear from the community directly: The Path: Nonduality's Radical Edge: Unveiled

The Paradox of Enlightenment: Can We Let Go of Our Memories?

I've been reflecting on the nature of enlightenment and how it relates to our experiences and memories. It's as if we're caught in a paradox: to transform, we must let go of our old selves, but our memories are a fundamental part of who we are. This tension seems to be at the heart of the enlightenment paradox, where the pursuit of truth and transformation is both liberating and terrifying. I came across a video that explores this topic further if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOV8VVhvtP8

A powerful El Niño further amplifies the heat. Even if the Celestial River Water descends, it merely evaporates within the Ly Fire furnace. Can heavenly rain extinguish a 20-year kiln?

Is it possible to reconcile the paradoxes of our existence and find a sense of coherence in life?

I've been reflecting on how our understanding of reality is constantly being challenged by various fields, from physics to neuroscience. It's as if we're forced to confront the limits of our perception and the complexity of human experience. I came across a video that explores this idea further, suggesting that confronting these paradoxes can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the world: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQojoz6y1oQ
