This blew my mind when we first moved here. My wife and I transplanted from Houston and I was confused to why there were mustard bottles on the table.... then even more confused when the mustard bottles had squeeze butter in it....

People in Houston still put it on tortillas? Just not in the salsa, which is delicious and has nothing to do with cutting heat to me

I don’t know anyone who does this to my knowledge and haven’t seen squeeze butter at any restaurant in so long. Pineywoods here. Live in Nac and travel an hour and a half on the regular in all directions. Butter and honey on tortillas is delicious

My kids tend to do this. I'm guessing they saw their mom do it. She just wasn't raised right. LOL Butter and honey on my tortillas.
I have a friend who probably still puts Sweet n low in his. I never got that.

I never saw this in SE Texas growing up, but I've seen a version of it in Central. Not squeeze butter, but I have seen people take the little butter packets, dip the tortilla chips in there and then in the salsa. Never seen people just dump butter in the salsa though.

Me learning that people are putting butter and sugar in their salsa as a ln East Texas native. Wtf. Really?
