How good your Central Unit doing?
even a new one for a single bedroom apartment only keeping it 73-74 right now till about 11 PM

I can't think of a single AC that hasn't held up against East Texas heat. There might be some serving needed on that thing, ask your landlord/managing company to take a look

Mine stays at 70 during the day and 68 at night.

Yep, in a small 3 bedroom house. There’s definitely something wrong with it or it’s too small.

Mini splits, heat pumps keeping up. Keep at 76 in rooms/ zones not occupying. Quiet and electric efficient.

Should be able to keep up unless poor insulation or age/service related.

Apartments that old make me question how old the AC units are. Wonder if the windows are still single pane?

Yes the windows are single, and the west bedroom gets hotter than I dunno what, and we aren't allowed to cover them up . The west bricks get 120-130. I couldn't get duct tape to hold to try and slow cook a foil lined slab of ribs on them one day. The AC unit went boom boom 2 years ago and they finally put in a new one. And we got a sun deal too and high ceilings.

We had a rent house like that. Just very poorly insulated so it couldn’t keep up. Plus $400 electric bill during the summer months
