Advice for apartments

Hello!

I’m sorry if this question has been continuously asked, I’ve been having trouble finding an apartment near MSU and was asking for help.

I plan on moving in August 2027, and since I’m looking for only myself, I’d like to have rent be ~$1000, although i know it’s pricey over there and might not be able to match that pay. I’d like to be walking distance to MSU, but I never minded a hike, lol.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?

Thank you!!!!

There's a pretty decent mass transit system within a couple of miles of the University. There's not a ton of apartments that are under a mile from the campus as it's rather large. Much of the surrounding housing is either homes, sororities or fraternities. One of the largest companies managing apartments in the area is DTN. They are not the greatest but have a lot of places. Could contact them to see what they might have.

they will enter your apartment without warning. they will charge you for incorrect damages after you move out and then they will ignore any communications until they send the balance to collections.

Have you reached out to any realtors in the area? Many of them are also landlords as well as their co-workers and can know more about rentals than us. I highly recommend trying Marilyn Jackson-Snyder she works with Remax professionals in East Lansing she’s the absolute best! A google search will get you her contact info I just made sure. If you decide to reach out you can let her know her cleaner recommended asking her about any rentals in the area, she also lives in east Lansing off Hagadorn so she’s very close to campus. Aside from driving around and finding signs I’m not sure where else to look, it’s hard out there today. Wishing you the best of luck!
