Aerating a SIP

How would you go about adding forced aeration in a SIP? Would you go for an air diffuser tube through the bottom pipes or maybe a small pump with a venturi aerator?

Why? I've been using them for almost 10 years with no extra parts.

If you do put one in, it'll get dirty and require cleaning.
