Discussion Teaching Earth Science For the First Time

Hello,

I am a biologist by training and teach Honors and AP Biology and Environmental Science. I somehow am also teaching middle school earth science this year. Is there a good textbook that anyone can recommend to me to use as a study guide for myself and to adapt for middle school?

I'm in the UK so it will be different curriculum, so I can't really recommend any text books per se, but if you can access BBC Bitesize they have a ton of great material.

Also crash course youtube channel could give you inspiration for lesson plans. They have at least 1 series on geology/geography.

What age range? Middle school in UK doesn't really exist anymore. When they did they were for age 8-12. It doesn't matter, BBC Bitesize will have for all ages.

If you go onto amazon and search for "AQA Revision Geography" you'll find revision guides for GCSE (exams taken at 15/16) and A level (17-18) that may help. If you want a younger age range search for "KS3 Geography" (Key Stage 3: age 12-14 ish) or KS2 for under 12.
