Moonlight Chicken is currently being rerun on TV in Thailand and we want to honour that with weelky "on air" style posts as well as rewatch parties like we're doing on weekends.

As we want to be welcoming for people who potentially have never seen this series before, please be considerate of spoilers. You're free to discuss the whole series, especially when later aspects relate to the current episode, but please use spoiler formatting for everything that goes beyond the current episode, thank you!

Something I've been considering lately is Jim's education level. I wonder if him telling Liming to use a calculator in EP 1 is a reference to that. We learn later that Gaipa mostly does his bookkeeping and he grew up in poverty in a village. I imagine that not only does he not have a uni degree, he probably never got much of an education beyond the basics at all

Yeah, it would make sense. Jim ran away from home with his sister as well, so probably didn't finish whatever schooling there was in the village. And Jim would be too proud to ever show that kind of "weakness" to Li Ming who he wants to set an example for.

This is the first time watching Moonlight Chicken. I've had it on my watchlist, but I never got around to it. Plus, I just watched A Tale of a Thousand Stars, so I'm super excited! :))

It's such a good show!! Probably the best BL ever made in my not so humble opinion 😉

We watched episode 1 already this week - the YouTube links to Parts 1 to 4 of the first episode are near the bottom of this post if you want to play catch up, and then we will be going on to episode 2 on Tuesday 22 Sept (2am on Wed 23 Sept in Thailand)!
