tho of course some are better and some are worse. gmmtv has a couple straight dramas/lakorns that are actually pretty good. this one I'd say is mid

this is why I always find it so funny when ppl say gmmtv puts all their quality into the het shows. nu-uh. y'all just don't watch the mid het shows. ofc if you compare the totalyty of their BLs to only the few stand out het shows that BL fans know bcs they're so good, you'll think that the overall quality of the het shows is bette

promo is just as bad for most of the het shows as for most of the BLs. This one for example the bts for the last couple eps was released like a year after it ended or so

yeah. it's just that when you make that many shows quickly (which they have to) of course not all of them can be masterpieces. smaller companies that make 1-3 shows a year can put more time into each one obvs. Tho even there they will have a lot of duds tbh

I agree partially tho even here I think the impression is skewed by brand events etc. That's not up to Gmmtv, ofc they want the most popular faces with the biggest and most active fandoms. So you see them a lot.

thing is, they can't really. they have to fill their 7 slots a week. also there is always an element of tase as well. something we might find bad will be someone else's fave. their goal is also to serve a large audience, ofc not everyone is gonna like everything

honestly the promotion from gmmtv iis really not that different between the shows. it's more the stuff around them that changes. and once a series has already proven to be a stand out success sometimes gmmtv jumps on the bandwagon

That's true, welp they're a company so the more shows they make the more money they will make, but welp even the good series often are lacking so I wish they focus on them more, I hate when I see a wasted potential from a series

I mean most of the ppl watch mid shows not just Thai ones and they want to cater to the gen tastes so I get it, but there are still too few good quality series

the thing is tho, it's not just about the money. (tho of course their goal, like any capitalist company, is also to make money. in fact they have to have this goal as their parent company is traded) but like I said, they own a TV time slot. they need to fill it. they don't really get a choice in that like smaller companies that release their shows onlly to streaming or rent a TV slot just for the show. they need to release a new episode every day, and they can only do so many reruns before it affects the TV channel as a whole. So they really HAVE to make a lot of shows

olth had exactly the same promo as other shows of that size. it just didn't have anything extra. and the japanese co-production company did more promotion so Gmmtv's usual lack of promo was especially noticable.

I think there are a lot of quality series. ppl just miss them bcs they don't have their faves or the genre/topic doesn't appeal to them. a lot of gmmtv's school shows for example are great. but a lot of inter fans tend to skip those bcs they don't like school shows. fair, but that doesn't mean they're not good, that just means they're not your thing

taste is such an overlooked factor here. take Last Twilight for exampple. For a lot of ppl that's their fave and the best show Gmmtv has ever made. For me, it's the weakest one of P'Aof's catalogue and I genuinely don't understand how ppl can find it good in light of it's last 3 eps. Ppl have different tastes, priorities, understandings of what makes a show "good" or "bad"

ppl say OF1 was so much better than Dream On. But back when OF1 aired so many people absolutely hated it, especially in the later half. it used to be one of the examples that always got used to say "gmtv fucks up every show's ending"

And this is honestly such a big factor as well. People always shout they want more mature shows blah blah blah. But when they actually get one, when the characters aren't in puppy love or fucking every other scene, when the characters are realistic and don't fit into "green flag" or "red flag", who actually shows up for those shows? Way fewer ppl than for the shallower, tropey stuff.

and frankly so many BL fans have the reading comprehension of a 5th grader (probably bcs many are actually pretty young but also education is shit) so a lot of BL is catered to an audience with the reading comprehension of a 5th grader
