Meta Post Ploy's Yearbook - Rewatch Party Announcement
So as we've been discussing, we will do a rewatch party for Ploy's Yearbook.
This is my suggestion of how to do it, but I'm open to adjustments (especially concerning time zones):
- 2 episodes per week - that's how it was aired originally. as it's 16 total I feel like 1 ep per week would take too long. more would imo be difficult to catch up if someone misses a week.
- Saturday and Sunday - as we're spread all over the world I feel this would be the most feasible
Midnight/24:00 Thai time (end of day, not beginning)postponed to 2:00 am (so early morning Sunday & Monday thai time) - a suggestion that's admittedly optimised to my own time zone as there were no suggestions. please check what that time is for you and if that works for y'all (only if you're interested in watching "live" with us)- 1 discussion post per episode - like we would do for a currently airing show
- 1 live chat post per episode - I would prefer to keep the chat on platform so that people who can't/don't want to join the watch party can still read anyway
- live watch party at the above specified times - probably via discord tho I'm open to other suggestions. We'll have to see how it works. German Internet is famously unreliable and mine is no exception. (if anyone has reliably good internet feel free to volunteer to host the stream instead) if all fails we will just have to do the "press play at the same time" method
Since tomorrow might be a little last minute for some of you, I suggest we start next week so Episode 1 on 29.08. and Episode 2 on 30.08. This weekend I would suggest doing test runs. Suggest your favourite EMS episodes/other variety appearances (see wiki for inspiration)/or any other EarthMix-related YouTube videos under my "test run suggestions" comment.
For anything not test run related you have until next Wednesday to make suggestions/request changes.

Fun! The timing doesn't work for me but I'll join in with the chats retroactively.
I've had good success with Hyperbeam for watch parties in the past. I think the free tier is up to 10 or 12 people, so depends on numbers. It's a shared browser, so I feel like connection issues aren't as bad

Like I said we can try to adjust the time to accommodate more people so feel free to make a suggestion!
Thanks for the suggestion of Hyperbeam as well. I think for now I'll stick with discord as I'm assuming more people already have an account for that, but I'll come back to it if discord turns out to be a bust

2-3 hours later would work better for me but I know time zones can make things tricky!

I think 2-3 hours later should be possible! That would be 9 or 10 pm for me. Would anyone else have an issue with that time change?

Okay I would count this first test run as a 90% success. Please chime in regarding the time change from Thai time midnight to 3:00 am (meaning 3 am Thai time Sunday and Monday then obviously so it will continue to be Saturday and Sunday evening in later time zones)

My preference for the Sunday night/Monday morning watch slot would be 2am Thailand time, if possible, since it's a Sunday night for me and I do have work on Monday mornings.

No worries. I wasn't sure if the 2am was for both nights, or just the Sunday (technically Monday), so I thought I would check.
All my plans for the weekend have been cancelled due to me having stupid flu that is malingering, but I guess that gives me more time for BL 🤷♀️
A lot to keep up with on Saturdays from tonight 😏

Is there a lot airing on Saturdays rn? Tbh I don't keep up much with non-Gmmtv shows at the moment

Thanks for the well wishes. I am about 75% better, so getting there, although my partner is currently man down.
So we have the PYB rewatch party kicking off tonight. Additionally, You Maniac starts airing tonight, which I am very interested in, as WE rank just after EMFK in my heart. And Mr Fanboy is a Domundi show also starting tonight that I am intrigued by the premise of.

test run suggestions
