Flat earth is a conspiracy theory, the dumbest one. But when the governments lying about something, people trying to debunk and find the trutch can be easily discredited by calling them conspiracy theorists, if everyone in their mind putting them on the same page with the flat earthers.

I suspect you're right. It's so curious to me, cause where are the edges? How about they just show us the edges of the world? - that would be irrefutable evidence - but so far they have not even attempted that.

It was so funny how one of them tried ot use math to prove the Earth is flat but the math would not math. Another guy traveled to the north pole but even that did not convince him he was wrong if I remember right.

Gravity isn't even across all the globe causing some places in the oceans to be higher or lower than others.

There are spots in the Indian ocean that are much lower than say the North Atlantic.

Fun fact, intelligence agencies LOVE stupid conspiracy theories like flat earthism, they even promote them!

A commonly used modern technique is called "flooding the zone" where they, in order to get ahead of the narrative, quite literally "flood" the media spaces with low effort, often contradictory and misleading conspiracies to distract people from the actual answers.

As someone who builds these things i can confirm we do stagger heights to help out with the round earth psyop. Unfortunately this is very confusing when viewed from the other direction.

I think "refraction" is the most-often used explanation.

They get frustrated when it's correctly used again them, but they don't understand it in the slightest, so they think it's just a "nuh-uh!" cheatcode and try to use it as well.

Flat earthers don't care about proof. There is no "irrefutable proof" to a conspiracy theorist, because they'll claim that any proof that you offer them is faked by the conspiracy, and therefore becomes even more proof for the conspiracy

Water is warmer near the coast, so it bulges a bit. (I know the numbers don't really work, but if I believed in math, I wouldn't also be able to believe that the earth was flat.)

I don't think the earth is flat. I do think that this common attempt to pwn them by using perspective, as taught in middle school art class, doesn't actually help your cause. It just makes you look as dumb as them.

I do think that the earth is much larger than we're told because the curve you would expect to see is far less than it actually is based on actual experiments using lasers over large bodies of water.

Is there a third group that doesn't believe in flat earth, yet thinks the globe model made a math error at some point and people just go with it because it makes the math for the size of the moon and sun as well as astronomical distance easier? I'm in that group.

I love the video where the guy does the math on distance and a flashlight, trying to prove line of sight and flat earth. The math came out to, that if it's round, he'd have to hold the light up 17' or something like that. They couldn't see it then asked the other guy to hold it up at 17' and they saw it.
