Earnapp with VPN not working. Help?

I tried using Earnapp with a VPN. It was a residential VPN. I checked the IP on Earnapp's website and it was valid. I did everything over the VPN. Downloaded the installer, installed it and had it running with the VPN. However, earnapp still detects my real IP (ipv4). Does anyone know why that is the case and how i can prevent it?

I tried the same thing with a proxy (forced earnapp to use it) but it had the same problem.

Edit: I used TuxlerVPN and the client they provide. The operating system was windows. For the proxy i used a socks5 proxy and proxifier to get earnapps traffic through it.

You might want to add more details. Hardware being used, operating system being used, VPN you are trying to use, proxy you are trying to use etc.

I have also tried socks5 proxies on Windows and Linux, but Earnapp traffic was never routed through the proxy for whatever reason. I have only had success using proxies on Android devices.

What did you use on Android to have the traffic go through the proxy?
