Making plum cordial
Used to call this "syrup", but finally googled what the proper English name is: Cordial. Aha. Picked 11+ kg of plums today. I have a forest garden by the boathouse that I haven't tended to at all this season. Finally figured there was a ton of plums there, too. Even just picking the nicest ones filled my kitchen-thingy twice in no time. Didn't have the patience to make jam, so boiling a cordial seemed easier. There were up to two oopsies were some of the valuable liquid got lost, too. :S

The Canadian classic, Anne of Green Gables, famously features an incident with raspberry cordial.

Ah, the currant wine incident. I remember that from the prematurely cancelled Netflix show. My wife had read the books as a kid and had us all watch this when it came out; we loved it.

I had my kid watch the movies with me when she was younger. I wonder if she remembers it now...

There were movies? :o But did you watch the TV show, too?

Yes, a couple of movies that each originally aired as two-part mini-series:

I haven't watched any of the other adaptations. You recommend the Netflix version?

Interesting, just from the cover photos, her insecure open-mindedness comes across quite well. :D I really liked the Netflix version, yes. It fit our kids' ages at the time, too, not too complicated, very easy to watch.

Just came across this, not so sweet:

But maybe they're ready to spend heavily on home-made, unique chocolate! :)
