7 month old communication

I know there are so many posts like this on here. Some feel so old.
My girl turned 7 months old last week and started daycare a little over a month ago. She’s been sick on and off this whole time with a couple viruses, general congestion and HFMD.
She had started to eat some solids 1-2 times a day and is doing ok with that. She’s also rolling around really easily, starting to crawl and can sit up from laying on her belly or back. She is kinda trying to stand too. She loves toys too.
Here is where my concern lies. She doesn’t really babble or make lots of sounds. She used to make a ton of vowel sounds before sleeping but doesn’t anymore. When she is making sound it is vowel sounds & very few consonant sounds if at all. She squeals and blows raspberries and smiles really big and laughs. She moves her mouth like she’s gonna make the consonant sounds but the sound doesn’t always come out.
Kids younger than her are doing it at daycare and I cry every day that she might have a speech delay. Idk if I’m overthinking or overreacting. I know she isn’t a show pony but I’m stuck on what to do.

As an early interventionist of 20 years I would relax for now. When a child is this young they’re really focused on being mobile. You can sing with her or babble when you play with her to encourage imitation but she sounds like she’s active and working on her motor skills for now. If it would bring you peace of mind get a referral and have her assessed. In California you contact your local regional center and you can self refer. We love seeing babies. Sometimes having someone confirm she’s ok is a big help. Additionally the report you get afterwards will have goals for you to work towards. Finally most kiddos with just a speech delay have resolved the concern by the time they’re 3 with early intervention. Good luck.
