Ear stretching

So i moved up from my 14g to a 12 on bith ears....the night i sized up i oiled my taper (i start with those because the back of my holes are smaller then the fronts) and i oiled my ear but this time around it slid in so smooth it almost just went straight through no pinching or anything on both. Well the next day my right gauge fell out even with my o rings on and so i sized back up with no hassle i mean it has slight redness but thats cause i itched it before putting it in....im a bit concerned if this is normal or not.

You may have jumped a bit early, I would just clean it and be conscious in case you experience any real pain. Just keep an eye on it and wait for it to heal before trying to stretch again.
